POSITION: Senior Plant Manager
BUSINESS UNIT: Medupi Drilling Company
LOCATION: Jwaneng Mine
REPORTING TO: Project Manager
JOB SUMMARY STATEMENT: Overseeing of the effective Maintenance process on a surface mining operation. Ensure to achieve maximum availability, managing the equipment, documentation, and people available on site.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS (DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES):

Ensuring that equipment of at least 90% for all Drill Rigs on site
Developing and monitoring key equipment initiatives and driving key input and output performance indicators that drive equipment performance

Ensuring the implementation of an effective Plant Maintenance Management strategy to drive operational excellence

Assist in budget planning for the assets fleet.
Assisting with business growth objectives
Driving the Optimal utilisation of equipment at the operations and optimisation of the fleet of drill rigs
Contemplating continuous improvement process within workshop team.
Driving financial optimization and efficiency.
Adhere to SHE policies, plans, schedule and promoting a strong safety environment/culture.

ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:

Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

EXPERIENCE:

Must have at least 10 years’ relevant experience in an Opencast Mining environment, at Managerial level and responsible for Drilling Operation.

Comprehensive experience working with the following Drill Rigs: DM30 MKII and D65 Smartrock
Strong experience in managing a diverse team in an organized work environment.
Innovative and ready to apply himself/herself to Autonomous Drilling Operations
Experience in supplier management, component management, quality, quality control, life costing, maintenance strategies, condition monitoring and maintenance information systems.

Clean criminal record
Valid Driver’s license

Excellent drilling, technical and mechanical skills
Cost management and troubleshooting skills
Strong business and financial acumen including budgeting and accounting skills
Strong safety drive, culture, and values
Strong people and Employee Relations skills (knowledge of labour laws and disciplinary processes)
Gaining agreement on all levels
Recognize opportunities for change and be a change agent.
